4 Russian and US astronauts sent to ISS
NASA's ninth manned space mission has launched a SpaceX rocket carrying three US astronauts and one Russian cosmonaut to the International Space Station (ISS).

NASA's ninth manned space mission Crew-8, which will last 6 months, launched Matthew Dominick, Jeanette Epps, Michael Barratt and Russia's Alexander Grebenkin yesterday from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida towards the ISS. The crew was launched to the ISS on a Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX, the company owned by Elon Musk. Crew-8's experiments on the ISS will include studying degenerative diseases, using stem cells to create organoid models, studying the effects of microgravity and UV radiation on plants at the cellular level, and testing whether wearing pressure cuffs on the legs can prevent fluid shift and reduce health problems in astronauts.
