Turkey's first space traveller Gezeravcı's first words in space: 'Future is in the skies'
Turkey's first space traveller astronaut Alper Gezeravcı's first word in space was " Future is in the skies".

Dragon capsule, which started its 36-hour journey towards the International Space Station (ISS), published the first sentences of the Ax-3 team, including Alper Gezeravcı, in space. The first words of Gezeravcı, who received the title of the first Turkish astronaut in space, were as follows: "I would like to start this moment with the words of our great ancestor at this moment when the first Turk stepped into space for Turkey's first manned space mission. The brilliant words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic of Turkey; The future is in the skies".

Stating that what he has experienced so far is a great feeling, Gezeravcı said, "I have been dreaming of this for a long time. This is a great feeling. Everything has been very good from the beginning until now." The Dragon capsule, including Gezeravcı, is expected to dock with the international space station at 13:15 on 20 January.
