Armed attacker Robert Card, who has been wanted in the US state of Maine since Thursday, killed 18 people and wounded 13 others, according to authorities. In a statement made by State Governor Janet Mills regarding the incident, it was stated that Robert Card was found dead in Lisbon in the state as a result of the search efforts involving federal security forces to help local police.

NO LONGER A THREAT

"I am here tonight to inform you that the Maine State Police have found the body of Robert Card in Lisbon. He is dead. I have called President Biden to inform him of this news and I have also informed Senator King and Senator Collins, Representative Pingree and Representative Golden.

Like many Maine people, I breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Robert Card is no longer a threat to anyone. I know there are many people who share that sentiment. I know that his death will bring no comfort to the victims of this tragedy. I know that while this search is over, law enforcement continues to fully investigate this tragedy."
