Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, shared a video of two hostages they released yesterday evening for humanitarian reasons.

"Al-Qassam Brigades, through Egyptian mediation, released Nurit Yitzhak and Yocheved Lifschitz, who were detained for compelling humanitarian and medical reasons," Al-Qassam announced on its Telegram channel.

The Swiss-based International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said it had assisted in the release of the hostages, adding: "This evening we facilitated the release and transfer of 2 more hostages out of Gaza. Our role as a neutral intermediary makes this work possible and we stand ready to facilitate their release in the future." With the release of two more hostages last night, the number of people taken hostage by Hamas reached a total of 4.
