In a statement issued today, the IDF called on civilians in Gaza to evacuate for their own safety to the area south of Wadi Gaza, as shown on the map. "The Hamas terrorist organisation has declared war against the State of Israel, and Gaza City is an area where military operations are being conducted.

This evacuation is for your own safety.

You will only be able to return to Gaza City when another announcement is made authorising this. Do not approach the security fence between you and the State of Israel."

OPERATIONS WILL CONTINUE

The IDF also stated that "Hamas terrorists are hiding in Gaza City in tunnels under houses and inside buildings inhabited by innocent Gazan civilians. Civilians in Gaza City, for your own safety and the safety of your families, evacuate the south and move away from Hamas terrorists who are using you as human shields. In the coming days, the IDF will continue to carry out significant operations in Gaza City and will make every effort to avoid harming civilians."
