EU Foreign Ministers' Meeting is being held in Kyiv
The European Union (EU) Foreign Ministers Meeting is being organised in Kiev today. Josep Borrell, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said: "Today in Kiev I am bringing together EU Foreign Ministers for the first meeting of 27 Member States outside the EU. Ukraine's future lies within the EU."

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Borrell and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba made statements to the press before the meeting. Stating that the meeting was a historical meeting, Kuleba said, "This is a historical event. Because for the first time, the Foreign Affairs Council will meet outside the current borders but within the future borders of the European Union."

"WE ARE HERE FOR SOLIDARITY AND SUPPORT"

Borrell said that these meetings will be informal meetings as they are not within the borders of the EU, but that 'brainstorming' will take place during the talks. Borrell also added that the Ukrainian Peace Plan presented by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was one of the agenda items and said: "We are holding a historic meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Ukraine, a candidate country and a future member of the EU. We are here to express our solidarity and support to the Ukrainian people."
