President Erdoğan travelled to Nakhchivan
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan travelled to Nakhchivan upon the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

President Erdoğan departed from Ataturk Airport to Nakhchivan at 11.20 hours with TUR aircraft.

Erdoğan saluted the military parade at the apron and was seen off by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and other officials. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alpaslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alpaslan Bayraktar, Minister of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Head of National Intelligence Service İbrahim Kalın, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, Chief Advisor to the President Akif Çağatay Kılıç, AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik and other officials accompanied Erdoğan during his visit. 

During the meetings to be held between President Erdoğan and Aliyev, Turkey-Azerbaijan bilateral relations are expected to be discussed and views on current regional and global issues, especially the latest developments in Karabakh, are expected to be exchanged. 

Erdoğan and Aliyev are expected to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of Igdir-Nakhchivan Natural Gas Pipeline and inaugurate the modernised Nakhchivan Military Complex.
