Zelenski: Russia is using the food crisis, energy and children as a weapon
In his speech at the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia uses the food crisis, energy and children as weapons.

Ukrainian President Zelenski, in his address to the UN General Assembly, stated that Russia blockaded Ukrainian ports and used the food crisis as a weapon with the start of the war and said, "Since the start of the war, Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov have been blocked by Russia. Our ports on the Danube River continue to be the target of missiles and drones. This is Russia's attempt to use the food shortage in the global market as a weapon in exchange for recognising some, if not all, of the territories it has seized. Russia is using food prices as a weapon. Its influence extends from the Atlantic coast of Africa to Southeast Asia. This is the scale of the threat," he said.

"THE THREAT IS BIGGER"

Zelenski stressed that Russia uses nuclear energy as a weapon, so the threat is greater, "Second, the weaponisation of energy. The world has witnessed many times that Russia uses energy as a weapon. The Kremlin has used oil and gas as weapons to weaken the leaders of other countries. Now the threat is even greater. Russia is using nuclear energy as a weapon."

"CHILDREN ARE ABDUCTED"

Zelenski stated that the abduction and deportation of children was not a government policy before, and that this was done for the first time in this war, "The third example is children. Unfortunately, various terrorist groups kidnap children in order to put pressure on their families and communities. However, mass abduction and deportation has never been part of government policy before. Nor has it been until now. We know the names of tens of thousands of children, and we have evidence of hundreds of thousands of children abducted and subsequently deported by Russia in the occupied territories of Ukraine. The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant against Putin for this offence."
