President Erdogan: Turkey stands by the Libyan people
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, "I wish God's mercy to our brothers and sisters who lost their lives due to the flood disaster in Libya and a speedy recovery to the wounded. Turkey stands by the Libyan people. Under the coordination of AFAD, 3 flights were organised to land in Benghazi this morning. In addition to AFAD, our personnel from the General Directorate of Security and Gendarmerie General Command will also participate in field operations."

President Erdoğan expressed his condolences to those who lost their lives due to the flood disaster in Libya and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded and gave information about the aid provided. In the first stage, 168 personnel, 2 search and rescue vehicles, 2 rescue boats, 170 tents, 600 blankets, 400 food and hygiene parcels, 20 generators, 1000 raincoats, 500 boots and 500 flashlights will be available in our aircraft to support search and rescue and other operations."

'IN ADDITION TO AFAD, OUR POLICE AND GENDARMERIE PERSONNEL WILL ALSO PARTICIPATE IN FIELD WORKS'

"Our personnel includes an underwater and surface search and rescue team consisting of 65 people, members of the Red Crescent, UMKE and NGOs to take part in the installation and distribution of shelter and humanitarian aid materials.
