British defence company BAE Systems opens office in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with representatives of BAE Systems, a multinational company operating in the fields of arms production, security and aviation, the Ukrainian Presidential Office said in a statement. Zelenski thanked BAE Systems CEO Charles Woodburn and his team for the visit and the decision to open an office in Ukraine and said, "We highly appreciate the fact that private companies are opening offices in our country at such a time. First of all, this is a very important sign of support for our people."

As a result of the meeting, the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine and BAE Systems signed a Cooperation Agreement on the localisation of BAE Systems weapons production in the presence of President Zelensky and the company's CEO Woodburn. The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and BAE Systems also signed a Framework Agreement on cooperation in the repair, spare parts and production of new L119 small arms. At the end of the meeting, Woodburn presented a commemorative certificate to Zelensky on the occasion of the opening of the Ukrainian office and the beginning of the company's cooperation with Ukraine.

Zelensky had previously held a video conference with representatives of BAE Systems in May, during which the opening of an office in Ukraine and the subsequent establishment of repair and production facilities for the company's products were discussed.
