Baku, August 29, AZERTAC
In determining the power and strength of the state, its position in the international arena, its sound foreign policy in relation to other countries is of great importance. The wise policy of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, esteemed Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in this regard, year after year, creates the ground for the development and improvement of Uzbekistan.
It should be said that the visit to Azerbaijan this August will naturally serve as an open door for unprecedented developments in the future and great results that can be achieved through cooperation.
In 1918, the great and brave people of Azerbaijan, who fought for the integrity of their territorial borders and freedom, gained independence and created a national state in the Southern Caucasus. According to the author of the music of the national anthem of Azerbaijan, Uzeyir Hajibeyov, "The Republic of Azerbaijan was born on a healthy national basis and with a Turkish spirit."
The roots of friendship and brotherhood, common culture and traditions between the countries of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan go back to ancient times. After all, it is no secret to anyone that these two peoples are linked by a common past and spiritual values. The famous Uzbek poet Abdulla Oripov praises the friendship between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan and writes:
"Holding your head respectfully,
This day Azar is the day of Uzbekistan.
Let the thousand years of history speak
Was this friendship in doubt?
I'm Uzbek, don't get it, where will I go,
It is the pearl language of Azar.
Friendship is love, my friend.
He knows no limit, no barrier.”
These wonderful poems can be called a monument of great friendship between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Being an Uzbek child, the poet always sees a devoted and faithful friend in the image of the Azerbaijani people. The beauty, subtle charm and melodiousness of the Azerbaijani language are striking. He recognizes the limitless and happy power of friendship.
The sincere attitude of the fraternal peoples towards each other, respect for their interests led to the development of relations between them, the rise of cooperation to a peak level. To date, more than ten visits have produced fruitful results for both countries.
Currently, these two countries are cooperating in many areas. Warm and friendly relations between the heads of state open the way to a comprehensive partnership on all fronts.
The visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Azerbaijan this year creates conditions for discussing the prospects for the beginning, expansion and development of a new era in practical cooperation between our countries.
The solemn welcome ceremony of the head of state in Azerbaijan demonstrated the hospitality of the Azerbaijani people and their deep respect for our people. Of course, this has its symbolic meaning. That is, relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are reaching a new level. Uzbekistan has always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, takes seriously the issue of peace and stability in Karabakh and highly appreciates the constructive work being carried out there.
During the talks during the visit, the main areas of partnership were identified and major projects in other sectors, such as the automotive industry, metallurgy, energy, agriculture, electrical engineering, the textile industry, and tourism were discussed. In negotiations, it is important to pay attention to the cultural and economic spheres, views on the development of industrial cooperation and logistics infrastructure. It is assumed that both countries will benefit greatly from the development of new supply chains and infrastructure construction, as well as the launch of projects to increase the volume of cargo transportation.
Cultural activities are also of particular importance. The Days of "Culture of Uzbekistan" recently took place in Azerbaijan, serving to strengthen ties. In particular, the presentation in the city of Baku of the famous work of the great representative of Uzbek literature Abdullah Kadiri in the Azerbaijani language "Otgan kunlar" is a clear proof of the highest respect and attention our brothers have to our literature.
There is also no doubt that the talks will serve to further strengthen interstate strategic relations. Because the goal is clear, the views are common, the striving for unity is firm.
In addition, the development of the transport and transit industry, which is strategically important in cooperation, is of great importance. In this regard, the proposal to increase the volume of cargo transportation through the port of Baku was a reasonable solution to problems in this regard. Decisions were made by the heads of state on the preparation of joint "road maps" and the creation of mechanisms for the effective implementation of the agreements reached. The signing of an agreement on the establishment of the Supreme Interstate Council between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan has become of great importance, since it will strengthen relations between the two countries in the future.
Today, the long-term ties of brotherhood and friendship between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are honed on the basis of partnership in the economic and cultural spheres, and serving the interests of both countries is a priority area of cooperation.
