UN announces current casualties in Russia-Ukraine war
The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) announced the current figures on civilians who lost their lives in the Russia-Ukraine war. In the statement, it was stated that 9 thousand 511 civilians lost their lives and 17 thousand 206 civilians were injured between 24 February 2022 and 27 August 2023.

In the report shared by OHCHR, it was reported that 9 thousand 511 civilians lost their lives and 17 thousand 206 civilians were injured between 24 February 2022, when the war started, and 27 August 2023. In the report, it was announced that 4 thousand 220 people died and 6 thousand 183 people were injured only in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. It was stated that 2 thousand 115 people who lost their lives and 2 thousand 999 people who were injured were from the regions controlled by Russia.

The UN announced that 108 people, including 34 women and 5 children, were killed and 477 people, including 148 women and 16 children, were injured between 1-27 August.
