The preliminary report published by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport on the investigation of the Embraer 190 crash involving Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) includes photographs and data confirming damage to hydraulic systems 1, 2, and 3 before the aircraft made contact with the ground.
According to AZERTAC, the report suggests that the damage may have been caused by external objects penetrating the aircraft’s components.
"The result of such damage would be the loss of hydraulic fluid/pressure," the report states.
It is worth recalling that the AZAL passenger aircraft, operating flight Baku-Grozny on December 25 last year, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau. Of the 67 people on board, 38 lost their lives, while 29 survived.
