Tuva Cihangir Atasever, an electronics engineer and Turkey's second astronaut to be sent into space on 8 June, said: ‘The time we will spend in microgravity conditions is only 3 minutes. In other words, I will have a 3-minute period to perform 3 different experiments that I will carry on it.

The Turkish Space Science Mission Suborbital Research Flight of Tuva Cihangir Atasever, Turkey's second astronaut to be sent into space after Alper Gezeravcı, will take place on 8 June from the Spaceport Facilities in New Mexico, USA. Astronaut Atasever's space journey will take approximately 1.5 hours.Connecting via video conference from the Spaceport Facilities, where the research flight will take place, Atasever said that his pre-flight training continues.Referring to the period when his curiosity about space began, Atasever said, ‘My curiosity about space started to develop after I graduated from university and realised the psychological change and transformation experienced by people who went to the Moon and lived in the International Space Station when they saw the world from that distant point.Because the perception of home of people who go there, who see the world from a distant point, changes.Home now becomes the whole planet for them and their families become everyone living on the planet. After learning and reading these things, my curiosity about space gradually increased, and in 2017, I started working as an engineer responsible for avionic systems in the space systems directorate at ROKETSAN."
