President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the public from Vahdettin Mansion within the scope of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the foundation of the Republic. Starting his speech when the clocks showed 19.23, Erdoğan said, "Our Republic, which we proclaimed on 29 October 1923, today completes its first century and sets sail for its second century, which we call the Century of Turkey. As a cadre that has realised the dreams of Gazi Mustafa Kemal, we have entered the second century of our Republic with the vision of the Turkish Century. The Republic of Turkey is a country that is the orphan of the orphans in its region and in the world, just as Gazi desired."
