This year, the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery is expected to produce 1.7 million tons of Euro-5 standard gasoline, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend.

"The Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery produced 1.4 million tons of automobile gasoline in 2024, of which 0.6 million tons met the Euro-5 standard. During the planned capital repair period, domestic demand was met through imports," the company stated.

The Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, which produces gasoline, aviation kerosene, diesel fuel, petroleum coke, fuel oil, and other oil products, meets the majority of the domestic market's demand. Additionally, 45% of the refinery’s products are exported abroad.

In response to the growing demand in both domestic and international markets, a project for the reconstruction and modernization of the refinery is underway to ensure the supply of high-quality fuel meeting the Euro-5 standard, satisfy the raw material needs of Azerikimya, and enhance the export potential of oil products.

Once the project is completed, the refinery's annual processing capacity will increase from 6 million tons to 7.5 million tons, and the catalytic cracking unit's production capacity will grow from 2 million tons to 2.5 million tons per year.
