The 28th International Festival of Turkic-Tatar folk dances, songs and national costumes has been organized in Constanta, Romania with the support of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
The project manager of the Foundation Leyla Hasanova represented the organization at the event. She met with the main organizer of the Festival, the chairman of the Democratic Union of Turkic-Muslim Tatars of Romania, Gelil Eserghep and discussed the activities of the Foundation in the field of protection of the ancient cultural heritage of peoples of Turkic origin living in different countries.
Dance and music groups representing Azerbaijan, Türkiye, as well as Turkic peoples living in Romania, Macedonia, Georgia, Slovakia, Bulgaria and other European countries took part in the festival. The parade of national costumes officially opened the festival. The delegations in colorful national costumes, carrying the national flags of the countries marched through the central streets of Constanta.
Azerbaijan was successfully represented at the festival by the mugham trio consisting of Sakhavat Mammadov (tar), Elvin Novruzov (kamancha) and Nisbat Sadrayeva, the winner of the 2018 International Mugham Competition. The performance of the musicians delivered the guests unforgettable moments.
Zeybek dance of the representatives of "Bursa Vatan Folk Games Youth and Sports Club Association" from Türkiye was welcomed with warm impression.
During the two days of the festival, music ensembles performed concert programs in different regions of the city. At the end of the event, the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation was awarded diploma for its active participation in the International Festival of Turkic-Tatar folk dances, songs and national costumes.
In recent years, discussions on the strengthening of relations between the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and Romania, as well as the directions of joint future activities were held at the meetings with Romanian officials and representatives of the Tatar community of the country.
